By creating an account or using HistoryCheck, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
HistoryCheck is a desktop and web application that helps Game Masters record, transcribe, and summarise tabletop RPG sessions using artificial intelligence. Features include audio recording, transcription, AI-generated summaries, campaign management, optional cloud sync, and data export.
You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials and must not share your account with others.
The Free tier provides limited session creation and recording duration. Paid tiers (Basic, Plus, Max) offer additional features and higher limits. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe and renew automatically unless cancelled. You can manage or cancel your subscription from the Account screen.
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at support@historycheck.app.
You agree not to:
Your content: you retain full ownership of all data you create, upload, or generate using HistoryCheck, including recordings, transcripts, campaign data, and entity information.
AI-generated content: summaries, entity extractions, and other AI outputs are generated by Google Gemini and provided to you as-is. You may use, edit, and distribute AI-generated content freely. We make no claim of ownership over AI outputs.
Our service: the HistoryCheck application, its design, code, and branding are our intellectual property. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property beyond the right to use the service as intended.
Summaries, entity extractions, and other AI outputs are generated by Google Gemini and provided as-is. AI content may contain errors or inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing and editing AI outputs. We do not guarantee accuracy or fitness for purpose.
HistoryCheck uses a local-first architecture on desktop. Your primary data is stored on your device. You are responsible for backing up your local data. Cloud sync is a convenience feature, not a backup service. On web, entity images are stored in Supabase Storage. Audio recordings are not permanently stored after transcription.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI content will be accurate.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for Terms violations. Upon termination, cloud-synced data is deleted. Local data remains on your device.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated date. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
